Dr. Seth C. Kadish, PSY 19261
Dr. Seth C. Kadish, Clinical Director of Milestones Ranch Malibu, one of the nation’s premier dual diagnosis treatment centers, is involved in staff training and development, clinician supervision, and group facilitation. Dr. Kadish designs and implements much of the core curriculum, with an emphasis on Pointing Out Patterns®, the art of compassionate truth-telling coupled with effective intervention.
This unique approach is the result of Dr. Kadish’s work treating maximum security inmates, at-risk youth, and chemically dependent clients. Pointing Out Patterns® is a stage approach, intended to diminish or eradicate clients’ negative patterns of thought and behavior. It is based, in part, on cognitive-behavioral, brief psychodynamic, personal-centered and motivational interviewing principles and techniques.
Dr. Kadish is Adjunct Professor at the California Graduate Institute in Westwood, California, teaching courses on counseling difficult clients, prison psychology, and the criminal mind. In addition, Dr. Kadish speaks to clinical audiences at regional and national conferences, including CAADE, Spirit Recovery, EAP/SFV CAMFT, Psychosocial Rehabilitation (Winnipeg, Canada-September 2008), and the Brief Therapy Conference (San Diego, California-December 2008).
He provides in-service trainings to clinics, schools, hospitals and treatment centers, among them Del Amo Hospital, Vista Del Mar Hospital, Cottage Hospital Santa Barbara, UCLA, and California State Northridge.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Kadish currently resides in Woodland Hills with his Venezuelan-born wife, Xochilt. He roots for the Yankees, though his family members favor the Mets.
