Biography:
Diane has worked with issues of Trauma, PTSD, Abuse, and Addiction
in both her private practice and at inpatient settings dealing with
co-occurring disorders for many years.
Diane’s treatment orientation is psychodynamic psychotherapy from an object relations perspective. This approach is ombined with EMDR and Somatic Therapy, and incorporates the most current research on the neurobiology of trauma.
EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) works with the emotional part of the brain that holds memory, images, sensations, and negative beliefs that are frozen in time at the age trauma happens. EMDR is a self-healing model that targets current symptoms and the triggers both past and present that cause emotional pain and self-destructive behaviors.
Diane has a BEd from University of Miami and a MSW from Barry College School of Social Work.
Ms. Wagman has been an Adjunct Faculty Member at the University of Miami School Medicine, and the University of Southern California School of Social Work. She has been a Supervisor at the San Fernando Valley Child Guidance Clinic and a founding
Therapist at the Wellness Community in Westlake Village, CA.
Diane is both a Certified EMDR Therapist and EMDR Consultant. She is a member of NASW, EMDRIA, and Waat (women’s association of addiction therapists).
Diane is an avid golfer and gourmet cook.
